We had something new for dinner today. It was prepared by me and my cousin. I dunno how to call it by its real name but I want to call it Potato Patty. We came up with the idea of cooking one since we’ve been watching Asian Food Channel and Food Network (of Lifestyle Channel) these past few days. My cousin is an NFT student, that is, Nutrion and Food Technology, so there’s no surprise seeing her watching food stuff. Just last Friday, we happen to watch an episode and the idea of using a Potato caught my attention. Potato, in European countries, can be counted equally as rice. Most people there substitute potato over rice. Since my father had changed his diet for the last two months, we’ve been avoiding rice during dinner, except of course for some occasions. He had high blood pressure and was instructed by the doctor to raise his potassium level, and have his dietary pattern changed. So basically, all of us are affected. Haha.

So what’s with this Potato Patty? We weren’t able to watch the whole episode so we kind of experimented with the procedure and some ingredients. Originally, bacon was used, and some green herb. We replaced the bacon with some sweet ham, and some spring onions, and later on we realized it’s better to use chibes, or something from the garlic. With the help of my father’s criticisms and opinions, we managed to cook the Potato Patty, and came the jugdment.

My father tasted our little experiment and commented that it’s a bit low on salt, but when mama tasted it, she said we should have lowered the amount of salt. We believed her, since my father’s tolerance for salt is high. It feels great that my parents liked what we did, and also our two neighbors and my aunt. They didn’t have any comments on it. Well, my mother had - the amount of cooking oil. It’s oily, we admit it.

I’m not actually like any other girls who is fond of cooking traditional dishes. I had never cooked something like menudo, or sinigang by myself. But what we did a while ago is something fulfilling. I was enjoying while cooking, and I can definitely assure that I can do the dish myself. Just then my cousin told me that I should take up NFT - and what did I reply? It’s in the blood!

Yeah, tracing back, from my great grand parent, I grew up from a family of good cooks from the mother’s side. My Lolo had been a cook in a cruise, and in a 5 star hotel. One of my uncles went abroad as a cook, and my other uncle was an apprentice of a chef in a hotel years ago. Both my mother and my aunt are exceptional, and now I have a cousin continuing the love for cooking! Yay. I hope we’ll have a family restaurant in the future! Haha.

I got my hair rebond - again. Well, it’s almost 10 months since I had my last rebond. The great thing about this time is that the money I used wasn’t from my mother. It’s my own. Yes, you read it right, I used my own money. One good thing about earning is that you can buy something for yourself - or even for others - and you can easily treat yourself without any hesitation.

I planned to have a haircut and have my hair colored - either Blue or Green. But sadly, they do not have the colors that I am looking for. They only have shades of red and brown, and blonde. I had my hair colored Dark chocolate brown before. So maybe I’ll just have it colored within a few months. I just had it trimmed, I wanted it layered, but it’s better to enjoy it first this long. haha.

Ness dropped by the salon this afternoon. We had a little chat about some things and plans. It feels good to see her again! I sooo miss my old friends. Super. I hope we can hang out on her birthday, before me and my cousins will have a vacation in Tagaytay for a week.

I also received a text from my classmate that only 5 students passed in our Eng’g Eco subject. One of my classmates texted our prof and he said there’s only 5 passers. I hope it’s just a joke. I wanted everyone to pass, all of us to pass.

I have updated some pages of my site. I’m also planning to create a Halloween Theme, although not for this site since the layout’s still new.

Today is the first day of vacation. But I can’t wait to come back to school - well, not for the lessons. I am super excited and tensed to see my grades. I dunno what to expect. By the way, I’ll have my hair cut tomorrow, or maybe even have it colored. :woah: still not decided on what to do with it, but I’m pretty sure that I’ll be going to the salon tomorrow. It’s already been decided. Haha.
